In 2008 Pico Thailand, a company with a strong record in education exhibitions and conferences began working with Teachers TV and Andrew Bethell to create awareness of the use of digital media for teachers professional development. In 2009 Pico secured the service contract to deliver the full service of a Thai version of Teachers TV from Burapha University. The contract was managed by the University’s School of Education on behalf of the Office of Higher Education. The service launched with a substantial website and a 24 hour television channel. Much of the content in the first year was acquired from Teachers TV UK and was re-versioned with Thai subtitles and specially filmed introductions from Thai presenters.

After eighteen months on air and online ThaiTeachersTV is reaching over 25% of Thai workforce with over 150,000 registered users
